A 25-year-old woman from Thunderchild First Nation has been charged with second-degree murder following the deaths of three men found with gunshot wounds at a rural property northwest of Turtleford earlier this week.
According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), officers responded to a report on Wednesday of several injured individuals at a residence outside the small community. Upon arriving at the property, law enforcement discovered three adult males and attempted life-saving measures. However, despite their efforts, Emergency Medical Services declared all three men deceased at the scene.

The RCMP confirmed that each victim had suffered gunshot wounds, and all three deaths have been ruled homicides. Investigators seized several firearms from the property, though further details about the weapons involved have not been disclosed.
Madison Paddy-Jimmy, the woman arrested in connection with the deaths, appeared in North Battleford Provincial Court on Friday. She has been charged with second-degree murder in relation to one of the victims, though authorities have clarified that there are no other suspects or victims linked to the case at this time.
Two of the victims have been publicly identified as:
28-year-old Tonio Cantell of Island Lake First Nation
A 46-year-old man from Turtleford (whose name is being withheld)
The identity of the third victim is still pending, as officials are working with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service to confirm his details. Police have also indicated that no additional information about the victims will be released at this stage, in accordance with the Privacy Act. Next of kin have been notified, and Victim Services has been made available to the families.
Insp. Ashley St. Germaine of the RCMP acknowledged the strain that recent violent crimes have placed on law enforcement, but assured the public that the investigation is ongoing. She emphasized the RCMP’s commitment to holding those responsible accountable in court, though she did not speculate on whether further charges could be forthcoming.
While the investigation continues, the RCMP has assured the public that there is no immediate safety concern, but will provide updates should the situation change.
