Metro Nashville police are investigating the tragic shooting death of 50-year-old Shereca Waters in South Nashville.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday at 87 Fain Street, authorities reported. According to police, Waters was involved in a verbal dispute with another woman that escalated into a physical confrontation. During the altercation, the other woman reportedly shot Waters before fleeing the scene.
Shereca Waters was immediately transported to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and have not released the identity of the suspect. Metro Nashville police are urging anyone with information to come forward by contacting Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
