Candis, the cherished daughter of Delegate Candi Mundon King, passed away following complications related to sickle cell disease, a condition she faced with remarkable courage and grace. Her passing has left her family, friends, classmates, and teachers deeply saddened, as they remember a young woman whose life was filled with purpose, compassion, and creativity.
At Colgan High School, Candis was admired not only for her academic dedication but also for her kindness and ability to make others feel valued. Friends describe her as “a light in every room” — someone who carried joy wherever she went, offering support and smiles even during her own challenges.
Her passion for dance shone brightly at the Divine Inspirations Center for the Arts (DICA), where she was a devoted performer and a beloved member of the artistic family. Her presence within the DICA community will be profoundly missed, as she was both a role model and a friend to many.
