Court documents and investigative files reveal that during the killings, Kohberger chillingly verbalized a victim’s name inside the Moscow, Idaho home. Survivors later told investigators that he mentioned Kaylee Goncalves by name before fatally stabbing her.
Adding to the haunting revelations, records show that months before the murders, a Washington State University professor raised red flags about Kohberger’s troubling behavior. At the time, he was a criminology Ph.D. student and teaching assistant.
In a written warning, the professor described Kohberger as “highly intelligent but potentially predatory,” cautioning:
“Kohberger is smart enough that in four years, we will have to give him a Ph.D. Mark my word, I work with predators… if we give him a Ph.D., that’s the guy that in many years, when he is a professor, we will hear is harassing, stalking, and s*xually abusing.”
