A deadly fight in Terrebonne, east of Montreal, has claimed the life of a young man following a violent confrontation Friday night near Angora Park.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) reported that local officers were called around 9 p.m. after several individuals became involved in a physical altercation close to Sablière Elementary School.
When police arrived, they found a man believed to be between 18 and 20 years old with severe injuries. He was rushed to hospital by emergency responders but later died of his wounds.
Homicide Investigation Launched
SQ spokesperson Camille Savoie confirmed that the case is being treated as a homicide, though investigators have not yet identified the weapon or object used in the attack.
The SQ’s Major Crimes Division has set up a mobile command post at the scene, collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses to piece together the circumstances surrounding the killing. No arrests had been made as of Saturday morning.
Possible Link to Hit-and-Run
Police are also looking into a possible hit-and-run that occurred in the same area and timeframe as the fatal altercation. Authorities believe another young man may have been struck by a vehicle during the incident, though it is not yet clear whether the collision was connected to the homicide.
“The events are believed to have happened in close proximity and at the same time,” the SQ said in a statement. “Investigators are examining whether the two cases are linked.”
Community Reaction and Appeal for Witnesses
The violent events have rattled the Terrebonne community, where Angora Park is usually a quiet space for families. The area was cordoned off overnight as forensic teams searched for evidence.
“This is a calm neighborhood — you don’t expect this kind of violence here,” said one resident living nearby.
